So I typically do not blog about family, but this seemed like a good enough connection to technology to get away with it!
Rob Sweitzer, my son in law, of the band Mae (Capitol Records recording artist)is heading with the band to Chicago to kick off the APPLE & Nike Tune your Run campaign!
Rock n' Run
With a sensor in your shoe and a receiver on your iPod nano, your run takes on a whole new dimension. See the minutes tick by. Watch the miles unfold. Hear real-time feedback. All to your favorite music — including the one song that always gets you through the home stretch.
Stay in Sync
Sync up after you cool down. Just as seamlessly as it syncs your music, photos, and calendars, iPod nano also syncs your run. Simply connect iPod nano to your Mac or PC, and your workout data syncs to both iTunes and nikeplus.com, where you can see your runs, set goals, and challenge friends. The Internet is an open road.
How Cool is That?
Rob gets the shoes and a new Nano! If I am lucky my daughter Heidi will give me her old IPod. Wont Cathy and John be proud of me then!
I heard about this when it first came out and it is so cool. Too bad it's Nike putting it out (I have never and still won't buy Nike).
Hopefully there isn't some trademark on the technology and generic versions of the shoe sensor will come out so you can use it with any pair of shoes and your iPod. Although I hope it doesn't base song selections on tempo, cause I'm not trying to listen to a bunch of slow music when I "run." Hah.
BTW thanks for posting Rob's blog, I didn't know he had one. I added the feed.

Oh my gosh! Your son in law is in the band MAE!!!! I have their CD The Everglow. I love that CD. One of my students gave it to me last year. I cannot believe you have been holding out on me! If he is getting rid of anything else like maybe some CD's or band stuff... I would just die. Ok, I sound like a teenager, but I was so impressed by this CD. I listen to it all of the time.
