Just returned from New Zealand and have many stories to tell via my blog-- however, first things first.
I wanted to report on the New Zealand guest that has accompanied me since Nelson. Please meet Tiny Ted, a geocache bear who was first introduced to me by the children of Appleby School.
Tiny Ted took one long look at New Zealand from my Auckland window. Then climbed in bed to get some sleep before the long plane flight.
He said he knew he would miss the children at Appleby, but was excited about the adventures he will have in America. I plan on introducing him to my preservice teachers in Williamsburg, Va. on Wednesday, which of course is Thursday in New Zealand. I am helping Tiny Ted understand the difference in time zones. He has been very sleepy.
Here are some of his welcome pics once he arrived in America.
Hi Sheryl - my kids will be over the moon tomorrow when I show them Tiny Ted's pictures. great to see that he and you had a safe journey home - your pictures of Nelson and Appleby School are brilliant, they are views we have not seen until now and will cause more excitement.
We here at Tiny Ted headquarters can't wait to see what he gets up to in the US.... thank you again for taking him ( he's quite a personality now )

Allanah has suggested that we give Tiny Ted a few chess moves in order to help him win!!!!

Geocache bear? Tiny Ted is so cute. I can't wait to hear this story. Geologists just *love* anything involving geocaches.
