Here is part of the reason I agreed to serve as the opening keynote for New Zealand's Time4Online conference patterned after the recent K12Online06 conference. In March, I met Gail and Lenva, both NZ educators, while serving as the keynote presenter for Tuanz.
I was touched by their enthusiasm and commitment to education and their students; something that wasn't lacking in most New Zealand educators I met while I was there. I knew if given the opportunity to collaborate again with NZ I would jump at the chance.
In addition, I also met Derek Wenmoth and Nick Billowes while I was in New Zealand. Their work with CORE is amazing. Seeing that Derek is the closing keynote for this event made me all the more eager to be involved.
I encourage you to check out this professional learning opportunity for educators in New Zealand and overseas. As the conference splash page suggests- explore examples of collaborative online learning and the application of Web 2.0 technologies in teaching and learning.
Here are the links to my keynote. Be sure and join the conversation in the forum after you watch my presentation. I would be very interested in getting your input.
